Ohio Wrestling Falls to West Virginia 23-13

Athens, Ohio ­ The Ohio wrestling team ended their three-game win streak with a 23-13 loss to #20 West Virginia on Sunday night. Four Bobcats posted decisions in the loss to the Mountaineers.

Ohio junior Dan Bednar (197 lb) needed overtime to get his 5-3 victory over Martius Harding. Bednar was down 3-2 in the match, but received a point for riding time to tie the score to make it into overtime. He won after his take-down just seconds into overtime. 

Other highlights of the match included freshman Luke Moore¹s (174 lb)  10-2 major decision over Erik Warg in the sixth match. Senior #13 Tim Courtad (Hwt) and junior Shane Hartzler (141 lb) also posted wins for the Bobcats.

The Bobcats finished the regular season 15-4-1 overall and 4-1 in the Mid-American Conference. They will be competing in the MAC Tournament on March 4-5 in Buffalo, NY.
